Before & After Your Botox Treatment

Please follow these instructions after each Botox treatment.

  • As you leave the clinic, you might notice some pinpoint swelling at the injection site. This is temporary and should return to normal within an hour.
  • 10% of people may experience a mild headache after the treatment. You make take Advil or Motrin should this occur.
  • For the next 4 hours you should keep your head upright. Do not bend over or lay down. Wait at least 4 hours before touching, pressing, or manipulating the treated areas. Make up can be applied after 4 hours.
  • For 1 hour after your treatment, you should exaggerate the use of the muscles that have been injected. This promotes the binding of the neuromodulator.
  • You may notice some slight bruising as from any injection. This is common and will gradually disappear. You may cover the area with makeup.
  • You may immediately resume you normal activities. Avoid exercise and saunas until the following morning.
  • Be patient. Botox results are not immediately apparent. You may notice some changes in 3-5 days. Final results take up to 2 weeks.
  • Avoid facial aesthetic treatments such as laser/ light/ energy based treatments for 1 week.
  • When you return in 2 weeks, we will evaluate the progress of today’s treatment. You may need an additional touch-up treatment to be sure that the targeted muscles are adequately weakened. Once desired results are achieved, typical maintenance is carried out every 3-4 months.
  • If you experience severe nausea, muscle weakness in your extremities or breathing difficulties, you must contact the office directly at the email or office number below.
