Facial fat grafting takes a patient’s own fat from one part of the body to areas of the face that need more volume. We begin by taking a small amount of fat, usually from the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It is purified before being placed in specific areas of the face through small injections. With fat grafting in Toronto, we treat hollow cheeks, tear troughs, temples, lips, or folds around the mouth. Placement matters, so the fat is added gradually rather than all at once. Since some transferred cells will not survive, we account for normal absorption when planning the treatment.
