Dr Solomon’s Answer:

Dr Solomon who is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery and certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Otolaryngology.

Facial Plastic Surgery refers to Reconstructive and Cosmetic procedures within the face and neck. Aesthetic Facial Surgery is structural cosmetic surgery; this includes changing the shape structures within the face: nose, ears, jaw, cheekbones and neckline. Rejuvenative facial surgery tries to reverse the signs of aging. Finally, Reconstructive Facial Surgery is the correction of congenital, traumatic and post surgical deformities as well as skin cancer reconstruction.

In Canada and the United States, Facial Plastic Surgery is performed by Facial Plastic Surgeons, which are subspecialists in the field of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. They are trained in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck only. Also, General Plastic Surgeons who are trained in procedures throughout the body may perform facial plastic surgical procedures as part of their practice. Finally, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons perform facial Plastic surgical procedures related to the jaw.
