Fractora - Laser Skin Treatment

As a renowned Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon practicing Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Philip Solomon prides himself on offering his cosmetic patients both surgical and non-surgical solutions that provide the most preeminent technology available today. Fractora offers a scientifically proven method using leading edge technology in bipolar radio frequency energy for the purpose of facial skin resurfacing and skin tightening.

How does Fractora work?
Fractora uses micro pins that function similarly to “mircroneedling” in order to deliver bipolar radio frequency energy to the skin. A matrix of pins are then applied to produce localized heat and small micro-lesion dots throughout the treatment area. The heat is gently controlled and infused into the sub-dermal tissue to revitalize the collagen to improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance. The beauty of Fractora, is the majority of the repair takes place beneath the skin, maximizing your results with minimal damage to the surface of the skin. This will allow your healing time to be significantly shorter.

How effective is Fractora?
Fractora is one the most advanced technologies on the market today using fractionated radio frequency for the purpose of anti-aging, treating active acne and acne scars while improving both skin tone and texture. Best of all, there are no limitations as Fractora can be used for treatment on all skin types. Fractora can be used on dark, medium and light skin tones, which distinguishes it from laser resurfacing which is not always safe or suitable for dark skin tones. The intensity of your Fractora treatment, can also be modified by your Facial Plastic Surgeon or Cosmetic Dermatologist, depending on your personal needs.

Dr. Solomon, a renowned Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon practicing Facial Plastic Surgery for nearly 20 years, has the ability to use a higher setting to give a more dramatic result, however more downtime may be required. A lighter setting will allow for less downtime, however more treatments may be required for maximum results. Together, you and Dr. Solomon can review your options to determine the best strategy for your treatment plan. Some patients may choose to have a more aggressive treatment with 1 week of downtime, while others may prefer multiple treatments with little to no downtime at all. If choosing a gentler approach with more treatments, Fractora treatments are typically performed 3-4 weeks apart.

Fractora is also one of the most effective non-surgical solutions used to address such challenges as wrinkles, sagging skin, pigment and complexion, active acne and acne scars. Fractora’s technology allows you to have minimal downtime with maximum results, unlike the recovery from a surgical procedure or laser resurfacing treatment. Most impressive is Fractora’s cability to treat darker skin without causing hyperpigmentation.

What areas of the face can Fractora treat?
Due to the fact that Fractora’s radio frequency depth can vary and that Fractora uses different tips that range in size and in depth depending on the treatment area, means that your Fractora treatment can be completely personalized. This will then allow you to achieve the absolute best results possible based on the goals you have established with Dr. Solomon.

What makes Fractora different CO2 laser resurfacing, Erbium and PRP and can I combine treatments?
The answer is simple. Yes. In fact, Dr. Solomon recommends combining your Fractora treatments with Erbium or Platelet Rich Plasma to achieve optimal results.

Erbium, also an ablative laser resurfacing procedure addresses the surface of the skin, and therefore is often combined in treatment with Fractora which addresses the sub-dermal tissue. Together they can achieve extraordinary results.

PRP, Platelet Rich Plasma treatments are also minimally invasive and can maximize your Fractora results as well. PRP injections helps rebuild collagen beneath the skin and is a recommended treatment for acne scars and facial rejuvenation. No downtime is required for PRP.

Ultrapulse CO2 Laser Resurfacing offers fully ablative and fractionated laser resurfacing technology therefore addressing the surface of the skin as well as the deep layers beneath. Depending on the aggressiveness of your treatment, the outer layer of the skin can become quite red and sensitive requiring 1-2 weeks recovery time.

What will my skin look like after my Fractora treatment and how do I care for my skin?
Initially following your treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling and possibly some bruising to the treated area. We recommend you keep the area moist using Aquaphor as directed for the first 48 hours. You can expect the redness and swelling to subside 1-3 days following your treatment, however in some cases where a higher setting was used or if you’re prone to swelling, it can last up to one week. Avoiding direct sun exposure is very important and we recommend to all our patients that they use a good quality broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. Makeup can be applied 48 hours following your treatment or once all the lesions have healed. Follow up treatments are often beneficial to maintain results from your Fractora treatment.
