When it comes to any cosmetic procedure, knowledge is an integral part of a successful outcome. At Solomon Facial Plastic, we educate our patients about facial filler, what the differences are between them and which products would best suit that individual patient. Even more important, is educating our patients about their own facial anatomy so that they have a better understanding about what their needs are and how we can best achieve their goals.
The areas of the face that often require filler are the naso-labial folds, marionette lines, the hollows under the eyes, the cheeks and the temples. For each area there are different techniques used to get the desired results.
For instance, for filling in the volume of the cheeks and the temples, we use a firmer product such as Perlane, Teosyal, Ultradeep or Voluma. Now, when treating the naso-labial folds, we use products such as Restylane, Emervel, Juvaderm Ultra Plus and Teosyal’s Global Action, which are all good choices.

Injecting under the eyes demands a different technique and a highly skilled injector. Your injector needs to be intimately familiar with the anatomy around the eye. Many patients who in the past would have required lower eye lid surgery, benefits from these injections which can delay the need for surgical intervention for years.

The most common products used for this indication are Redensity2 and Resylane Fine Lines. It’s important to note that it takes 2 weeks from the time of injection for the product to settle and blend with your face in order to gage your results. Should results not appear as you had anticipated, a product called hyaluronidase can dissolve the product within minutes. Facial filler, depending on the product, can last anywhere from 9 months to 2 years.
