Dr Solomon board certified facial plastic surgeon and Otolaryngologist answers: I would advice you to clean your nose after rhinoplasty surgery with saline sprays and polysporin. There are a number of good Saline sprays available at the pharmacy. Brand names include salinex, simply saline, Hydrasense. They are all good. Most patients like the mist sprays as they are easier to use. Ask the pharmacist to show you the different types and how they work. The polysporin should only be applied for about a week or so after the rhinoplasty. If the inside of the nose feels at all sore then you can use the polysporin longer. I would also recommend that you use three percent hydrogen peroxide to clean over the internal sutures for the first few weeks after surgery. Most of the sutures should disolve within the first few weeks after the rhinoplasty surgery. If you have any concerns you should come in for an assessment.
