Procedure Rx: CO2

The following treatment skincare regimen is recommended to maximize the results of your medical aesthetic procedure:

Recommended for use: Pro-Derm™ Intensive Recovery System

Treatment Day – Day 3

You may experience point bleeding, burning, edema, redness and itchy skin when it starts to heal. Apply a thin layer of Vaseline (example, should be as thin as saran wrap). For deeper treatments, apply more Vaseline as directed by your clinician
Apply a cool water soak (clean wash cloth soaked in cold water) or vinegar soak (see instructions below) to your face every hour for 10 minutes. This will decrease sunburn symptoms. Be sure to sleep with an extra pillow to help alleviate swelling

Day 4-5 : It is of utmost importance to keep skin optimally hydrated during this healing phase

AM

Gently Cleanse with Pro-Derm™ Gentle Cleanser
Apply Regenerating Cream to hydrate and regenerate the skin. If no makeup is being applied, re-apply Regenerating Cream as needed
Apply Pro-Derm SPF 60 (Day Cream)

PM

Cleanse with Pro-Derm™ Gentle Cleanser.
Apply Regenerating Cream to hydrate and regenerate the skin

Day 6 and ongoing to your NEXT TREATMENT

AM

Gentle Cleanser
Regenerating Cream, as directed
Apply Pro-Derm SPF 60 (Day Cream)

PM

Gentle cleanser
Alternate Night Cream AHA 5% cream and regenerating cream

With reduction rhinoplasty the upper lip may become longer. The upper lip can be held up by a high nasal bridge this is called a tension tip. If the bridge is lowered the tip of the nose can become less tense and drop a bit.
When the tip of the nose drops the upper lip may also become less Tense.

This can relax the upper lip and reduce the gummy smile. Stretching ones upper lip will not help. You are welcome to email photos through quick contact for an opinion.

I have a gummy smile as a result of a short upper lip. I can't close my lips without effort.

I also have a very big nose. If i make my nose smaller will it lower my upper lip?

Are they more ways to make the lip longer (maybe stretching it every day) ?

Please help!

Do you provide treatment on keloid scars. I am looking for alternative treatments specifically with bleomycin injections.

Dear Susan,

Dr Solomon board certified facial plastic surgeon and Otolaryngologist answers: I would advice you to clean your nose after rhinoplasty surgery with saline sprays and polysporin. There are a number of good Saline sprays available at the pharmacy. Brand names include salinex, simply saline, Hydrasense. They are all good. Most patients like the mist sprays as they are easier to use. Ask the pharmacist to show you the different types and how they work. The polysporin should only be applied for about a week or so after the rhinoplasty. If the inside of the nose feels at all sore then you can use the polysporin longer. I would also recommend that you use three percent hydrogen peroxide to clean over the internal sutures for the first few weeks after surgery. Most of the sutures should disolve within the first few weeks after the rhinoplasty surgery. If you have any concerns you should come in for an assessment.

i had Rhinoplasty about 6 months till now,I was wondering if u can tell me, what is the best way to clean inside my nose with? Can i use any saline sprays? If do? Which brand do you recommend and do you think 6-7 months is too early to see the final result?
