Cosmetic Surgery: Advanta
Advanta is the newest technique available for improving deeper lines and wrinkles,
and for lip enhancement. It is much softer than similar products, providing a more
natural feel and smoother results.
The improvements are permanent (although the
implant is removable). Naso-labial lines, lines between the eyebrows, depressions at
the corners of the mouth, and other deeper lines and creases can be treated, as well
as lip enhancement. (Advanta is not appropriate for fine or superficial lines.)
Advanta Facial Implant Surgery
Advanta is made of a material called PTFE, which is similar to Gore-Tex. It has been
used safely for over 25 years in a wide range of medical and surgical procedures, such
as vascular grafts and hernia repair.
The procedure is done in the office, usually taking
less than half an hour. Using local anesthesia, the Advanta implants are placed under
the skin through tiny incisions. Improvement is immediate. Mild swelling, bruising or discomfort may occur, which resolves fairly rapidly.
